• If you are not an EU member or a citizen of one of the 40 countries exempt from short-term visa restrictions, you must apply for a Schengen visa before entering the Czech Republic.
• All foreigners must register at their local Foreigners’ Police Inspectorate within 30 working days after entering the country.
• Expats who want to work as freelancers must go through a somewhat different application process and receive an živnostenský list license.
• When residing in the Czech Republic, Prague is not the only option; other cities such as Brno, Ostrava, and Plzeň also have much to offer.
• Most foreigners relocated to Prague, the country’s political, cultural, and economic hub. 

Visa, Blue Card, Or Employee Card

Citizens of all other EU member states have been able to move to the Czech Republic without a visa since the Czech Republic joined the EU in 2004. Citizens of most other countries must apply for a visa before traveling. However, around 40 states are free from visa requirements if their nationals stay for no more than 90 days and are not there for jobs or business.
