  • A clean criminal record certificate from your home country and any country of residence in the last 5 years.

  • Medical examination report confirming fitness to work abroad.

More Details About Malta Work Permit

The Malta Work Permit process begins once an employer offers you a position and applies for your work authorization through Identity Malta, the official government body managing foreign employment. Once approved, you can apply for a Single Permit, which combines both your work and residence rights.

The Single Permit is typically valid for one year and is renewable as long as your employment continues. Holders of a valid work permit enjoy the same labor rights and protections as Maltese nationals. After five years of continuous residence, applicants may become eligible to apply for long-term residency within the European Union.
